El Paso, Tx...summer of '69 (i wuz stuck in the Army at WSMR, but a few of us had a weekend rental off Dyer st)
Would go to the "Levy" (Rio Grande-between NM & Tx) a whole texas Hippy scene was there every weekend, kilo's- $80-$110 (reg to gold)Yet hash was $10/gram and LSD- $5 atab-Orange Sunshine. Gotta be careful in Texas though!
If i had been busted, I'd still be in prison!

$5 a tab in 69? No way? It was that much or less in 77-81. Now the other, what a deal!

it was supply & demand...when i took a leave back to Cali in may, hash was 5/g here and acid $2/hit....4finger lids, $10-15. I brought back Led Zepplin 1, no one i was stationed with had ever heard it. Anyone else experience El Paso in '69?
Had a gal deep in Juarez, used to spend some weekends at her famlies house there-i think the money exchange was 18pasos to the dollar. Went to a lot of cool dance clubs in El Paso, one was called The Elecric Eel. What a trip!!
